This 4x5 self-casing camera was manufactured by Rochester Camera Company as their Folding Gem Poco, labeled as the "Folding Hub" for Dame, Stoddard & Kendall of Boston, Massachusetts.

The Folding Gem Poco was only offered in 1898. Dame, Stoddard marketed photographic supplies, cutlery, fishing equipment and other sporting goods. The "HUB" was their trademark used on a variety of products. This example is in extremely nice condition, with its ivoroid label stating "Folding Hub, Dame, Stoddard & Kendall, Boston, Mass."

Rochester Camera's Folding Gem Poco is seen much more frequently than the Folding Hub, making them somewhat scarce. A plate-box version of the Hub was also available, being the Rochester Camera Company's Gem Poco, offered from 1897 through 1899.
